The expectations were clear: deliver a new hall – fully integrated with the existing structure – within just two months. Tight deadlines, complex tasks, and of course, high standards. But that’s exactly where we thrive.
Tailored Planning, Aligned with Client Needs
At the start of the project, the client made one thing clear: the new building section had to visually match the existing logistics hall – not only in function but also in appearance. With this in mind, we placed special emphasis during the tender phase on ensuring that the façade cladding, color combinations, and connection points aligned as seamlessly as possible with the original structure.
We didn’t apply a template solution – every detail was tailored to the client’s expectations, from the first sketches to the final stage of construction.
The goal was that the extension should not “look new” – but rather feel like a natural continuation of the building, as if both had been built at the same time.
Main Construction Steps and Materials Used
In this project, we had to focus not only on efficiency but also on long-term performance. That’s why we applied technologies and materials that are durable, safe, and in harmony with the characteristics of the existing hall.
The main steps were as follows:
1. Steel Structure Assembly
The building was constructed using prefabricated reinforced concrete frame elements, providing a solid foundation for the roofing and façade systems.
Assembling the structure required high precision, as all connections had to align perfectly with the existing building.
2. Installation of Load-Bearing Trapezoidal Sheets
The base structure of the roof consisted of load-bearing trapezoidal sheets.
These allowed for the quick and safe construction of the additional layers needed for thermal and waterproof insulation.
3. Roof Insulation Installation
For the flat roof, we used a multi-layer insulation system:
- Vapor barrier foil
- Mineral wool thermal insulation
- Fire-resistant, UV-resistant waterproofing layer
This solution not only ensured excellent energy performance but also met strict fire safety requirements.
4. Façade Cladding and Sheet Metal Work
The external walls were clad with mineral wool core sandwich panels, offering excellent thermal and acoustic insulation as well as EI60 fire resistance.
Precise sheet metal work ensured water-tightness and a clean visual finish at all connection points.
All this was carried out in a coordinated, fast-paced manner while meeting strict safety and quality standards.
At the peak of construction, 60–70 workers were on-site simultaneously.
Special Challenges – Swift Solutions
A project like this is never just construction. There's always something extra that makes it truly exciting.
In this case, it was the extremely tight deadline – and the fact that the existing logistics halls remained operational throughout the entire process. This meant we couldn’t disrupt daily logistics operations even for a moment.
During implementation, we applied modern, durable solutions – all while focusing on simplicity, quick installation, and long-term reliability.
Because it’s not enough for a building to look good – it also has to perform reliably, day after day, for years to come.
Successful Warehouse Expansion – Backed by a Strong Team
The expansion of the VGP B2 logistics hall was led by our team of experienced professionals:
- Project Managers: Tamás Szabó, Péter Bieber
- Site Managers: Gergő Derzsi, Zsolt Szitás
Thanks to their expertise, the work was completed precisely, on time, and to a high standard.
The Result: Function, Form, and a Satisfied Client
By the final deadline, a modern logistics hall was delivered, fully meeting the client’s expectations.
The project was completed on schedule, the collaboration was smooth, and everything went according to plan.
But the most important feedback wasn’t a formal email or document — it was the client’s personal expression of satisfaction and their clear intention to continue working with us in the future.
What We Take Away From This Project
This job once again confirmed that we can be truly effective when collaboration with the client is strong, when we think ahead, and when we don’t shy away from tight deadlines.
